Kat Price (Intern)
Hi, I’m Kat! I am currently completing my Master’s in Social Work at Louisiana State University and am excited to join the ChangeWell team as an intern.
You might be here because…
- You or your partner are neurodivergent, and mixed-divergent relationships (ADHD, autism, or a combination) come with communication patterns that feel hard to untangle.
- You’re looking for an LGBTQIA+ couples therapist who brings lived experience, not just training, to the room.
- You want support managing ADHD, whether that’s focus, follow-through, emotional regulation, or how it shows up in your relationships.
- You’re a parent or family member trying to better understand and communicate with a neurodivergent loved one.
- You want a therapist who won’t offer toxic positivity, and will actually help you feel more confident.
If any of this resonates, you’re in the right place. I’m here to help.
Meet Kat Price
Hi, I’m Kat! I am currently completing my Master’s in Social Work at Louisiana State University and am excited to join the ChangeWell team as an intern.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy exercise, trying new restaurants, spending time with my pets, and continuing to learn about psychology and human behavior.
What Therapy With Me Looks Like
I believe therapy is most meaningful when clients feel safe enough to show up as their authentic selves. Therapy often involves working through difficult emotions, but I believe that humor, curiosity, and genuine connection can be just as important in the healing process. I am an advocate for, and enjoy working with, members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Together, we’ll help you (or your teen) identify root issues, build skills, and feel more capabale in the world.
My Areas of Focus
I have experience working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism and ADHD. I have also enjoyed working with parents and families to assist in increasing communication and understanding one another.
My training is currently specialized in couples therapy and sex therapy, supporting clients in developing healthier, more fulfilling relationships and embracing sexuality with confidence and without shame.
- ADHD: Building practical strategies for focus, follow-through, and emotional regulation that fit how your brain actually works.
- Neurodivergence: Supporting autistic and otherwise neurodivergent individuals, and the relationships around them, in understanding and communicating across different ways of processing the world.
- Teens: Helping adolescents navigate identity, emotions, and the pressures of growing up with a space that feels theirs.
- Self-Confidence: Working through self-doubt and criticism to help you build a steadier, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
- Relationship Conflict: Untangling communication patterns and misunderstandings so partners, friends, or family members can hear and understand one another.
- Anxiety: Understanding what’s driving your worry and building tools to feel more grounded in your day-to-day life.
- Depression: Reconnecting with what matters and finding motivation and meaning when everything feels heavy.
Evidence-Based Care I Use
Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring underlying patterns to reframe and reshape maladaptive processes.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Learning tools and skills that contribute to overall wellbeing.
Biopsychosocial Framework: Understanding the entire person and the world around them, rather than any one piece in isolation.
