ChangeWell Psych is not only committed to providing exceptional therapeutic services but also to advancing the quality of mental health care in the therapy field as a whole. To give you a sense of how we work and what you’ll learn as an intern, ChangeWell’s team is a trauma-specialized practice that supports the family system through a culturally sensitive lens. Treatment approaches include individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, skills coaching, and consultation services.
We offer trauma focused therapies (EMDR, CPT, PE), cognitive behavioral focused therapies (CBT, DBT, RO-DBT, ACT, LGBT+ Affirming CBT, FBT), and several specialized therapies for specific presenting concerns, such as Gottman therapy for couples and ERP for OCD.
We are an internship placement site for future therapists pursuing their advanced graduate degrees.
We welcome uniquely outstanding individuals looking to be part of an intimate team committed to providing inclusive, identity-affirming, evidence-based, quality, compassionate care.
Interns offer client sessions at a rate of $40 per session. Each intern is supervised by a licensed clinician, which allows clients working with training providers to be uniquely supported by more than one individual on the backend.
We are honored to help develop the next generation of culturally informed mental health clinicians.
Commitment: 2 academic semesters (Fall+Spring, Spring+Summer, or Summer+Fall)
Required Qualifications: Enrolled in good academic standing in a therapy-related master’s or doctoral program, with a demonstrated commitment to anti-racism values.
Preferred Qualifications: 2nd year or advanced graduate student able to commit to 2 consecutive semesters, with interest in LGBTQIA+ and trans-affirming mental health care.
The providers at ChangeWell Psych weren’t born professionals; we all started somewhere. As such, we understand the value and importance of quality graduate experiences and education.

Application Process Expecations:
1. Submit the application form.
2. Interview with our Internship Director.
3. Panel interview with the ChangeWell team, where you will be asked to teach a clinical skill/intervention and present a treatment plan for a case.
4. Submitted references contacted.
